Formulation Process of the Shonen Flavors

Today, I want to explain our processes in formulating our beloved Shonen Crème Soda flavors.

So first, we worked with a beverage development company. We told them the kind of flavors we wanted and the next step was experimenting with their flavors. We worked with their lab team by mixing and tasting hundreds of flavor options.

Not many people know this, but the original Shonen Soda flavors were, Banana, Melon, and Peach. So how did Shonen Soda end up with the current flavors, Banana, Elderberry, and Orange?? The answer to this is pretty simple... we were never able to perfect the Peach and Melon flavors. We tried many many rounds of experimenting but it never exceeded my expectations. Both flavors had chemical taste which we were never able to get rid of. So after a couple months, we decided to give up and try experimenting on the Elderberry and Orange flavors!

You can take a look at my notes from the first round of samples below... I was quite disappointed with our first round but here we are now with our beloved three flavors!
